The Drive intercom or Click & Collect intercom is designed for outdoor use. The system allows the customer to call the management center through an intercom that manages calls and access control.

The topic

With the ever-increasing demand for click-and-collect services, which was a priority over the past year, it was evident that a drive-through collection facility was required to handle the volume of orders and customer arrivals.



The customer

Leroy Merlin le pontet in France required the development of a Drive Through Click and Collect service. This required a transit zone with an alarm point.
Headquartered in France, Leroy Merlin is a home improvement and horticultural retailer serving several countries in Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. Leroy Merlin stores are generally located on the outskirts of the larger cities and are large centers offering self-service and sales-assisted services. Leroy Merlin is part of a network of 141 stores across France.

The requirements

As part of the development, Leroy Merlin looked for:
• A reliable system that can be used extensively during business hours, while communication between staff and customers is maintained without interruption.
• A system that enables calls to be made in both directions with the possibility of a telephone operator.
• Remote control of the barrier opening via the telephone.
• Complete management of phone numbers and other settings through the application.
• Option: The call can either be controlled via the call button on the bollard or via a light barrier or other sensors.
• Unlimited talk time: Most intercoms have a time limit, but our standard products have a 90 second time limit by default, but we can set the talk time up to 2 hours and 30 minutes, which allows for longer customer inquiries to be resolved with no interruption.
• Call the intercom system on the end device: Call the end device (intercom system gsm) and talk to the customer - this way, the employees can contact the customer first.
• Caller ID: Recognition of phone numbers for opening commands, mainly for employees. This option was very much appreciated by the customer who did not want to distribute prox tags or keyboard codes.
